Barack Obama is Phony
Am I the only Black person not impressed by Senator Obama? This dude has wasted our time and many folks’ money, and has depleted what it means to be a strong Black man. (and if I hear that he’s a strong black man because he married a strong black woman one more time, I will deem it more meaningless than when I first heard it).
Obama should have known that he would be scrutinized more than any candidate. He should have recognized that his past would catch up with him regardless of what that past might be. Whether it be an idiot preacher or an extramarital affair, he should have known that it would have come back to haunt him.
Obama was given a great chance—not to become president but to eliminate the possibility of having a Democrat in the White House. Obama’s audacity of arrogance has created a vanity campaign that has only benefited himself and no one else. His head got gassed up by a speech that he made at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, but he failed to recognize that he was put there simply to place a better “black face” on the Democratic Party.
Old schoolers like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson had had their day as far as white America was concerned and they wanted some new blood to cosmetically change the Black Face of the Democratic Party. While Obama, like most Black “leaders” can write a speech, they tend to confuse the reception of that speech as some form of acceptance and fuel to go farther. When Jackson ran in ‘84 he made a great speech and that was all Black America has ever gotten from that campaign—a speech. Those who believe that Obama is the first qualified Black candidate to run for president are insulting those that came before him as well as our entire race.
Obama is an empty suit with a sharp pencil. He is the quintessential lawyer and that’s about it. Shirley Chisholm was as legitimate a candidate as any one who ever ran. Biz Markie was right. Jesse Jackson was just as legitimate as Ronald Reagan, and Al Sharpton is just as legitimate as any of the Bushes. We like to talk about Jackson being corrupt and Sharpton being a race baiter but just look at the honest Abes that have inhabited the White House. Who baits race more that white American politicians? But when a black person uses the same weapons he is labeled as a hatemonger. While Obama has the same beliefs as both Sharpton and Jackson, he was the one who had not the balls to spit it out. Instead he ran a squeaky clean, jive-ass campaign to make everyone believe that he is void of the social, political insecurities that all Blacks are hogtied by.
Obama is the great pretender. He got called on it and dug himself into a bigger hole in electoral politics. In his garden-variety speech on race, which I have heard before from dozens of brighter black folks, he basically stooped to the level of simply writing a closing argument defending his relationship to his preacher.
That was not a speech, it was legal brief to save his political ass and it was sad, boot lickin, and grossly ineffective.
Barack was pimped and got played by some of the best in the game and they are not done yet. Those who believe that race is at work here do not understand politics. Using race would not work here. Just like they buried John McCain and John Kerry last time, they will bury Obama this time and they will use anything they can. This is politics at its best. Pastor Jeremiah Wright is the Sherman tank that Michael Dukakis stuck his head out of, he is the bloody glove that Marcia Clark made OJ try on, and he is the Jessica Hahn that Gary Hart stuck his willy in.
Obama is finally able to show his true color—and that color is Toast.
